Maths is a gateway subject which, if young people perform well in, the number of opportunties available to them increase significantly. There is a serious maths skills shortage in South Africa particularly within education. What OLICO offers is a sense-making and confidence-building approach that makes maths accessible and meaningful to South African school children.

They have demonstrated over the years the effectiveness of their approach. Their learners consistently matriculate in the top 20% of maths performers nationally which is a phenomenal achievement. We believe that a partnership with the Bishop Simeon Trust will lead to countless more young people succeeding in this maths. At this moment in time, we intend to support their project in the township of Diepsloot.
