Sponsor our supporters taking on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge!
On Sunday 26th September 2021 Richard, Steve, Paul and Martin, will set out at 6.30am, just ahead of the dawn, with the daunting prospect of the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge ahead of them.
From Horton in Ribblesdale they will head towards Pen-y-Ghent and from there the long haul to the peak of Whernside, finishing with a scramble up Ingleborough and the hike back to Horton. In all they will walk 25 miles with 1,600 metres of ascent in what they hope will be a time within 12 hours!
Richard is the Head of RHS Garden Bridgewater, Steve is an award winning architect and Director at Gagarin Studio, Paul is a Professor at the University of Leeds and you might already know Martin as Director of the Bishop Simeon Trust! All live local to our offices in Hebden Bridge.
"We're all very keen to show our support and raise some funds so that the Trust can keep helping vulnerable children through what is a particularly tough time as the pandemic continues in South Africa. They already needed our support, now that need is even greater," Martin told us.
"We're all a little nervous about the challenge, we're not taking it lightly and are preparing carefully. Although we might not be able to manage the weather we're convinced that people's sponsorship will help push us all the way round regardless of the conditions!" said Martin.
The team are trying to raise at least £2,000 from the challenge and will be keeping us updated with photographs throughout the day and intend to share them with us, so keep an eye on our social media channels throughout the day of Sunday 26th September.
