Administration Assistant - Kickstart Scheme Placement

We’re looking for an Administration Assistant to support the development, implementation and administration of the work of the Bishop Simeon Trust, helping us achieve all operational objectives to sustain our vital work for vulnerable children in South Africa.

We’re looking for somebody who can positively represent the Trust, taking phone calls and greeting visitors to the office, as well as having good organisational skills that allow them to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

We’ll need you to be able to help us manage our record keeping, maintain our database and support our fundraising, marketing and communications work. You'll help us to make sure that our supporter events are a success and that our online presence is informative and inviting.

You’ll have a hands-on and can-do attitude, be able to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent interpersonal and team working skills are a must. You don’t need so speak Zulu (!) but strong and fluent written and spoken English is vital. You will be computer literate and confident using MS Office software and familiar with the major social media platforms.

An understanding of and commitment to the work of the Trust will also be very helpful – we thrive on our passion for our work! Being someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and make a difference for some of the most vulnerable children is absolutely essential to us.

To be eligible for the Kickstart programme you will need to be:

  • Aged 16-24
  • Unemployed and in receipt of Universal Credit for 6 months or more
  • Referred by your Jobcentre Work Coach
  • Be available to work for 25 hours a week
  • Be able for the full 6-month placement and training programme

Duration: 6 month placement

Location: Our Hebden Bridge Office (some flexibility for home working, dependent on nature of workload).

Hours: 25 hours per week

Salary: £9.30 per hour
