Fundraising & Communications Assistant - Kickstart Scheme Placement

We’re looking for a Fundraising & Communications Assistant to support the development, implementation and administration of fundraising income for the Bishop Simeon Trust, helping us achieve income targets to sustain our work for vulnerable children in South Africa. You will also support marketing and communication, with the opportunity to develop and manage your own projects.
We’re looking for somebody who can do research, analysis and presentation, as well as having good organisational skills that allow them to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively. You’ll have a hands-on and can-do attitude, be able to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail.
We’ll need you to be able to build relationships with a variety of people, so excellent interpersonal and team working skills are a must. You don’t need so speak Zulu (!) but strong and fluent written and spoken English is vital. You will be computer literate and confident using MS Office software and familiar with the major social media platforms.
An understanding of and commitment to the work of the Trust will also be very helpful – we thrive on our passion for our work! Being someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and make a difference for some of the most vulnerable children is absolutely essential to us.

To be eligible for the Kickstart programme you will need to be:
- Aged 16-24
- Unemployed and in receipt of Universal Credit for 6 months or more
- Referred by your Jobcentre Work Coach
- Be available to work for 25 hours a week
- Be able for the full 6-month placement and training programme

Duration: 6 month placement
Location: Flexible - Home Based (preferably in Calderdale) / regularly able to join us in our Hebden Bridge HQ (in line with national restrictions).
Hours: 25 hours per week
Salary: £9.30 per hour
