Welcome
Bishop Simeon Trust's fund raising event The Race Against Time has started, follow the riders on their journey at The Race Against Time Blog. Or find out more information at The Race Against Time website.
In South Africa, millions of individuals are mired in poverty as a direct result of the former Apartheid regime. The Bishop Simeon Trust focuses on education and development work in some of the poorest communities, where the HIV crisis is a traumatic, additional burden.
The Trust was founded in 1989 and is named after a black South African bishop who was at the centre of the struggle against repression. We now support a range of education work, community development initiatives and HIV projects, with a particular emphasis on the most vulnerable, such as AIDS orphans.
The development work we fund is carried out by local partner organisations in South Africa and is carefully monitored by the Trust.
The Bishop Simeon Trust has a number of well-known patrons including Sir Michael Parkinson, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Fergal Keane and Sir Trevor McDonald.
Please note that this website is still under development, and not every page has been finished yet. Please bear with us and if you notice anything that isn’t working properly, please drop us a line at info@bstrust.org Thanks!
