Welcome
The Bishop Simeon Trust, established in the UK in 1989, exists to support through education and development projects those most disadvantaged South Africans who still suffer from the inequalities and injustices of apartheid and its legacy, or who are most severely affected by the HIV/AIDS.
The charity supports a large amount of HIV/AIDS community projects in South Africa where the pandemic has reached extraordinary proportions. As the number of infected people grows and the illness spreads, the number of people left in its wake also increases. Part of the work of eradicating HIV/AIDS therefore involves providing support, care and education for those affected in order to minimise their vulnerability to the illness.
The Bishop Simeon Trust has a number of well-known patrons including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Sir Michael Parkinson, Jonathan Scott, Fergal Keane, Zerbanoo Gifford and Sir Trevor McDonald.
